Ren Saroth Goes Three Hard-Fought Rounds Against Tial Thang

Cambodian Top Team athlete Ren Saroth did not get the win at ONE: REIGN OF VALOR in Yangon, Myanmar. The Phnom Penh based 25-year-old showcased early why he is regarded as one of Cambodia’s most promising mixed martial artist s he stood his ground against four-time Chin State Wrestling Champion and promotional newcomer Tial “The Dragon Leg” Thang.

It was no surprise that Thang wanted to take the bout to the ground, but Saroth show a developed take-down defense and most of the first round ended up being contested standing up.

In the later rounds, Saroth seemed to find his rhytm and connected several times, but unfortunately Thang’s wrestling became too much to handle for the talented Cambodian that ended up on his back and got his powerful Kun Khmer nullified.

After three hard-fought rounds, the judges gave “The Dragon Leg” Thang the victory by unanimous decision.
